Highland Park ISD PPCD Expansion Program
The purpose of the PPCD Expansion Program is to provide a preschool for children while also providing preschoolers with disabilities an inclusive instructional setting in which they have the opportunity to interact with typically developing peers.
The PPCD Expansion Program consists of children who qualify through an evaluation for the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) and children without disabilities. The program is staffed by a certified special education teacher and instructional assistants.
Enrollment in the program will be determined by the student ratio need of the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities. A professional from Bradfield Elementary will contact selected applicants and instruct the parent to complete enrollment procedures at Bradfield Elementary.
If a student fails to attend school within five days of enrollment, the student will forfeit his or her slot and another student will be selected to take his or her place.
If a student leaves the program and a slot becomes available, the next student on the list will be notified until all slots are filled.
Subsequent year’s enrollment will be determined by the PPCD need and on a first come, first serve basis. Each application will be date stamped when it is received.
