Attendance

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION: Please make sure your child is at school by 7:55 AM. The first bell rings at 7:45 AM and the tardy bell rings at 7:55 AM. If your student is not in the classroom at 7:55 AM they will be counted tardy. Students are counted absent if not at school by 9:10 AM. Make sure you call the office if your child is going to be absent.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE: Every nine weeks we will acknowledge those students that have perfect attendance. To qualify for perfect attendance you must be present every day and have less than three tardies. At the end of the year, we will give a certificate to those students that have been in attendance the entire year.

What do I do when my child is absent?

Email brattendance@hpisd.org to let us know that your child is out, the reason why and who their teacher is!

Do I need a doctor's note if my child is absent? 

No, you do not! 

Well, when do I need to bring in a doctor's note? 

We ONLY need a doctor's note when a child has a doctor visit that happens during the school day and the child comes in late from that appointment, leaves early for that appointment, or leaves school and returns on that very same day.
