Our hearts are heavy as we share the tragic news of the devastating floods that occurred in the Texas Hill Country. Numerous HPISD students were in the area and forced to evacuate during this natural disaster. We are deeply saddened to report the loss of multiple students, and our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families deeply affected by this unimaginable tragedy.
We recognize that this news is difficult to process for our entire school community. In times like these, it is important that we come together with compassion and care for one another. Many students, staff, and families may be experiencing a wide range of emotions, and we want to assure you that support is available.
Counseling services will be offered this week to assist students and staff as they navigate this difficult time. We encourage any student who may need to talk with a counselor to take advantage of these resources. Counselors will be available on Tuesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 10 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Boone Elementary. You can also reach out to your campus principal or counselor if you are in need of additional resources.
