EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

  • I believe that the purpose of education is much more than just learning the outlined curriculum, and must extend to the whole student and their story as a person. My mission as an educator is to see the beauty and value of each student, and to work diligently to help my students thrive emotionally, socially, physically and academically.
  • I believe in creating meaningful and engaging lessons that are differentiated to meet the learning styles and learning differences of each student. I strive to design a rigorous and motivating curriculum to encourage critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and  appropriate use of technology for every student.
  • I see my role as that of a facilitator who helps students grow as leaders who have an active role in their learning, development and growth.
  • I believe parents are a vital partner in a child’s education and I strive to communicate effectively with parents, as well as create meaningful ways to involve parents in the classroom and school community.
  • It is my goal to instill in my students a true love of learning that creates life-long learners who are able to effectively apply their knowledge to the world around them.
