Meet the Teacher

Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Allison Barnes and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year.  Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding jobs, and I am so grateful that it is what I get to do every day.  I enjoy working with children and helping them reach their fullest potential in their education.  I believe that when a child feels valued and they know that their teacher truly cares about them, great learning will take place.

I attended the University of Oklahoma for my undergraduate degree and Southern Methodist University for my Masters Degree.  My teaching experience includes sixth and fourth grade students. 

My husband is named David, and through our marriage I was blessed with two boys, Jackson and James.  We enjoy riding bikes and playing tennis. In the fall, we love to watch Oklahoma football and cook.  Some of my other interests include Pilates and running.
