Bradfield PTA

Dear Bradfield Families,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and looking forward to the 2018-19
school year. This is an exciting year as we are “On the Move” to our temporary
campus at 3920 Caruth Blvd. while our new forever home is built. I am honored to serve
as this year’s PTA President. I am proud to be a part of our Bradfield family and I am
looking forward to the many exciting events we have planned for this coming year!

While our location is changing, the PTA’s goal for fundraising remains unchanged – to
provide our teachers and administrators with the resources and tools they need to
inspire and educate our kids. We want to provide opportunities for our children so they
receive the very best education possible.

Why does the PTA need to raise money?

Highland Park Independent School District gives more than 70% of our tax dollars to the
state of Texas every year. This means for every additional $1 the school needs, the
District must raise taxes by $3.33. A more efficient way to raise funds is through private
donations since all of that money stays within Bradfield. In order to maintain the caliber
of education in our district, the PTA and our generous families help bridge the gap.

How do we spend the money?

Last year the PTA and Dads Club gifted nearly $700,000 to Bradfield. We fund ongoing
expenses like:

  • Teaching assistants to help students one-on-one
  • Passport to Spanish program
  • Classroom libraries
  • Teacher continuing education and Masters programs
  • Paper, toner, and copier leases
  • Science supplies
  • Buses for field trips
  • Computers, tablets and software

How can I help?

Please consider Bradfield in your charitable giving. This is a direct investment in your
child’s daily educational experience. You have an opportunity to make a difference in
our school.

The easiest way to support Bradfield is through our Annual Family Giving Campaign
during Back to School Sign Up (August 2-10). Please see detailed benefits below.
In addition to our Family Giving Campaign, we also have several event-based
fundraisers throughout the year like the Adventure Dash Fun Run (our fall student
fundraiser), the Fall Carnival and the Bradfield Auction (our largest fundraising event).

These event-based fundraisers have separate benefits and recognition, unrelated to
Family Giving. We hope you will consider supporting these events, too!

Whether it is through Family Giving, The Adventure Dash Fun Run, the Carnival or the
Auction, we thank you for your generous support!!

Sincerely,

Amy Kovac
2018-19 Bradfield PTA President
